Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal thanks Sir Alex Ferguson for belief in his ability

Following Manchester United’s upturn in form in the Premier League, manager Louis Van Gaal believes the club have benefited from Sir Alex Ferguson’s faith in the Dutchman, reports BBC Sport.

Sir Alex Ferguson has recently tipped Manchester United to challenge for honours under Louis Van Gaal, with the Red Devils having overcome an early season blip to become dark horses for the Premier League title this campaign.

Following the glowing endorsement by the former manager and now-club director, Van Gaal believes such faith and belief makes his job a lot easier.

“He has belief and I’m happy with that. Then you can work in an easier way. You hope that he shall support you. He showed a lot of confidence and belief in me and that I need as a coach,” said Van Gaal.
