Manchester United’s David De Gea not worrying about a contract extension

According to BBC Sport, Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea is not worrying at the lack of a new deal with the club, amid reports linking him with a move to Real Madrid.

The Spanish shot-stopper, 24, has been outstanding between the sticks for Manchester United this season in particular, turning in man-of-the-match performances to help his side in the top-three of the table.

Signed from Atletico Madrid for £19M in 2011, David De Gea initially struggled for form, but has now become one of the best ‘keepers in the world. He was named Manchester United’s Player of the Season (2013/14) and has been linked with La Liga leaders Real Madrid, who are looking to find a long-term replacement for Iker Casillas.

De Gea’s contract will be up in the summer of 2016, but he has previously reaffirmed his desire to stay at Old Trafford, stating how happy he is with the Red Devils.
