Manchester United defence Phil Jones has revealed how hard he’s working to boost his fitness so he can be a mainstay in the backline this season, reports Sky
The former Blackburn man has been somewhat of a utility man since joining for Manchester United in 2011, and has been one of many causalities in the side. Manager Louis Van Gaal hasn’t had the luxury of naming the same backline for a consecutive run of games, but Jones has revealed he’s undergoing many measures to ensure of his fitness in the future.
“I’d never had a muscle injury in my life, and then on international duty, I pulled my hamstring so that was disappointing. When I was coming back I then had shin splints. I have been doing a lot of work in the gym, strength work on the reformer, yoga and pilates and loads of stuff. I will do anything I can to improve myself, and hopefully that will stand me in good stead for the rest of the season,” he said.
