QPR deny Steven Caulker being involved in a Christmas party brawl

Queens Park Rangers have refuted claims that defender Steven Caulker suffered injury at a recent Christmas party, reports Sky Sports.

Tabloid rumours coming out today. suggested the English defender was involved in a bust-up at the box social that featured players from Queens Park Rangers and Crystal Palace, but the club were quickly to play down the stories emerging.

“With no further fixture for nine days, the club can confirm players were allowed to have a Sunday lunch together. Steven Caulker was not involved in an altercation. He did suffer a cut to his head, which he received treatment for at hospital before being discharged on the same evening,” said the club’s statement.

QPR manager Harry Redknapp was reticent to allow his players a Christmas party, but the recent event was meant to be a watered-down social, so he won’t be pleased with bust-up allegations coming out.
