QPR midfielder Taarabt set for return to Milan

Queens Park Rangers midfielder Adel Taarabt is set to join Milan on loan for a second time in January after seemingly being deemed surplus to requirements at Loftus Road, according to Talksport.

The Moroccan spent the second half of last season with the seven-time European champions after his time at Fulham was cut short by then Cottagers boss Rene Meulensteen. He made 16 appearances during that spell in Italy, finding the net four times.

Having joined QPR in 2009 from Tottenham, Taarabt was a key member of the side that won promotion to the Premier League in 2011 under Neil Warnock, but throughout his time with the club his professionalism and commitment has regularly been called into question, while current R’s manager Harry Redknapp severely criticised his lack of fitness back in October.

After rarely featuring for the West London club this season, Taarabt’s move back to Milan is close to being completed, with agent Kia Joorabchian set to meet up with the Serie A club’s chief executive Alberto Galliani to finalise the deal. This comes after the player turned down the chance to join Atalanta.
