Roma are plotting a deal to bring Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech to the Italian capital, according to the Daily
The Serie A side moved during last summer’s transfer window to bring former Chelsea man Ashley Cole to the club after his contract with the Blues ended, and are looking to return to the club for benched keeper Cech.
The Czech Republic international held the number one spot at Stamford Bridge for an undisputed 10 years but has been displaced by in coming youngster Thibaut Courtois following his loan spells at Atletico Madrid.
The Belgian has been in fine form and Cech has had to settle for a place on the bench – making just five appearances this season.
Manager Jose Mourinho insists there have been no offers for his 32-year-old stopper with reported interest from a host of clubs such as Liverpool, Arsenal, Real Madrid, Paris St Germain and Inter Milan.
However it is Roma who are looking at a possible bid once they know their Champions League fate, with Cech costing them around £7m.
The player’s agent has claimed that a move in January is unlikely for his client but has refused to rule anything out.
