Sporting manager Marco Silva bracing himself for William Carvalho exit in January

Sporting manager Marco Silva has recently admitted his young midfielder William Carvalho could leave in January, with a host of Premier League sides likely to make official approaches when the transfer window opens, reports ITV Football.

The 22-year-old has been linked with the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool, with lofty figures of up to £30M said to be his asking price. Carvalho, a defensive midfielder, has made 49 appearances for the Portuguese Liga club, while representing his country on nine occasions.

“William is a target for English teams, but I want him to play his game. He’s not playing at the same level as last season because last season he was a surprise, but he’s improving. William has many offers. Let’s wait till January,” said Silva.
