Sunderland 1-4 Manchester City: Aguero shines as Sky Blues come from behind to thrash the Black Cats

In-form Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero was the catalyst as the defending champions came from behind against Sunderland to finish 4-1 winners at the Stadium of Light, reports BBC Sport.

It was the hosts who took a shock lead, however, with Sunderland striker Connor Wickham earned the Black Cats the lead in the 19th minute.

But the Sky Blues took little time to peg their way back just minutes later, with Sergio Aguero levelling the game with a fierce effort. His strike-partner Stevan Jovetic then put the visitors ahead, with Aguero setting him up.

City continued their pursuit to open up breathing space against Sunderland., and scored their third goal through Pablo Zabaleta chipping over the Sunderland ‘keeper.

Aguero wrapped the win with a close range finish from a James Milner cross, which saw them go four points clear of third place.
