Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino congratulated the effort from his side after they defeated Burnley on Saturday to record a third win in six days, Sky
The North London club opened the scoring when Harry Kane continued his excellent form with a glancing header from close range after a move that began with a quickly-taken free-kick which was disputed by the visitors.
The lead lasted only six minutes as Ashley Barnes curled a terrific shot into the top corner for his third Premier League goal of the season, but Spurs ensured victory on 35 minutes when Erik Lamela found the net with an equally impressive effort from distance.
The result moved Tottenham up to sixth place in the Premier League, and Pochettino was encouraged by the form the team are beginning to show. “I’m very pleased, it was a big effort from our players,” he said. “In six days, we have had three games and three wins. It was a big effort from the players so congratulations to them and we look forward now.
“Against Newcastle (in the Capital One Cup on Wednesday, a 4-0 victory), we felt the special relationship between our supporters and the team and today was the same, we need to keep this feeling.”
