Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger doesn’t rule out starting Wojciech Szczesny against Stoke

Despite Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny enduring an error prone performance on New Year’s Day, and breaching club rules, manager Arsene Wenger hasn’t ruled out the possibility of him starting against Stoke this weekend, report ITV Football.

Szczesny has suffered a recent dip in form, and capped it off by being caught smoking in the dressing room showers following the game. He was rested in the Gunners’ FA Cup third round clash against Hull City in favour of David Ospina, but could return for their league meeting against Stoke City on Sunday.

“I haven’t selected the first XI yet. I take everything into account. He is a serious boy who works very hard. He made a mistake, he is not the first one or the last one. Ideally, the best way to have a high level as possible is to behave as close to the rules. (Szczesny) has contributed a lot to the good image of Arsenal. It does not have to be public,” said Wenger.
