Arsenal’s Cazorla ‘ideal’ for Barcelona says Xavi

Following his very impressive performance against Manchester City at the weekend Barcelona’s Xavi has pinpointed Arsenal playmaker Santi Cazorla as the one he would most like to join the Catalan club, according to the Metro.

The Spanish superstar – who retired from his national side following their disastrous World Cup last summer – has also taken a backwards step in his club duties as he reaches the autumn years of his career.

But this has not stopped him looking at what is best for the club and has described the 30-year-old Cazorla as the ‘ideal’ man to come in and make a difference at Barcelona.

34-year-old Xavi was a key figure in the aggressive attempts made by the Spanish giants to sign Cesc Fabregas back in 2011 that eventually paid off, and there are those who see this as another attempt to sway a player’s head.

Cazorla is contracted to the Emirates Stadium until 2016 and while Barcelona are banned from making any transfers until January of 2016 should the Spaniard decide against extending his deal he would draw a great amount of interest.

Speaking at a publicity event Xavi claimed Cazorla, and David Silva of Manchester City, would be the number one targets he would love to line up with in the coming seasons.
