Arsenal’s Santi Cazorla named PFA Player of the Month

After a series of glistening performances in the last month, Arsenal playmaker Santi Cazorla has been named PFA Player of the Month, reports ITV Football.

The Spanish international, 30, scored four goals and made one assist in December, and has been showcasing the form he was displaying upon his arrival from Malaga. Santi Cazorla has struggled for form following an impressive debut season in 2012/13, but is now back to his best.

Formerly of Villarreal too, many felt Cazorla would find himself out of the side with so many attacking players in the Arsenal side to choose from – Danny Welbeck, Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Theo Walcott – but his form has made him one of the first names on the teamsheet.

His deal still has 18 months to run, so such form could well see him in line to extend his deal in the summer.
