Chances were few and far between with Aston Villa and Crystal Palace firing blanks at Villa Park this afternoon, reports BBC
Crystal Palace had the best chance of a lifeless first-half, with Yannick Bolasie hitting the bar after being put through on goal. The Eagles didn’t come closer than his missed effort in the opening 45 minutes, while the Villans did little to make the most of their superior possession.
After the break, Palace were on top, without really threatening a goal. Paul Lambert’s men kept the ball well, but also had no cutting edge to threaten a winner. Striker Christian Benteke missed the target on two occasions, while Alan Hutton also come somewhat close.
A point isn’t what either side wanted, but what both clubs did little to prevent.
