After Aston Villa’s newest addition Carlos Gil put in an impressive performance in the Villans FA Cup fourth round win against Bournemouth, manager Paul Lambert was full of praise for the Spaniard, reports BBC
Aston Villa signed Gil from La Liga side Valencia, and he’s quickly impressed in training let alone when making his full home debut, with a wonder goal against the Cherries in this weekend’s FA Cup clash at Villa Park. He performed admirably too, and was singled out by his manager for his showing.
“We needed to try to get through. All credit to the team. I thought we deserved the win. Gil is lighting the place up and it was a world class goal. He has hit the ground running (since signing this month). He does the same in training. In training you can’t get the ball from him as he has a low centre of gravity. I’m delighted to get through. It is a big win, and will certainly help us,” he said.
