Aston Villa midfielder has ended speculation surrounding his future with the Midlands club by signing a four-and-a-half year deal, reports BBC
The 25-year-old has been one of Aston Villa’s top performers in the last 30 months, but his deal was originally up in the summer, which led to rumours linking him with a move away. Delph made his England debut this season, and stalled talks on a new deal initially which saw the likes of Tottenham & Liverpool linked, but the former Leeds man revealed his delight to stay loyal.
“I am a loyal person and committing my future will hopefully show everybody what type of guy I am. There was no way I was going to bail out. I am here for the long run. The fans have been the same (with me). I am sure they will stick with us, help us get through this season and then looking into the future, it looks promising to me,” said the England international.
