Aston Villa have begun talks with Manchester City over the possibility of signing out-of-favour winger Scott Sinclair, according to Sky
The 25-year-old has never made impact on the City first-team since making a £6.2 move from Swansea City in the summer of 2012, making only 19 appearances, many of which have come from the bench. He had a similarly unsuccessful loan spell at West Bromwich Albion last season.
Due to his lack of action, Sinclair is believed to be looking to leave the Etihad Stadium as soon as possible in order to reignite his career. A number of Premier League clubs are interested, but Villa appear to have stolen a march on his other potential suitors, but are yet to meet Man City’s reduced asking price of £2.5m.
His struggles with Man City have come despite the excellent success he enjoyed at Swansea, where he scored 36 goals in 91 games and helped to establish them in the Premier League. Prior to that he was at Chelsea, who signed him from Bristol Rovers as a teenager in 2005.
