Saturday’s FA Cup action begins at Ewood Park as Swansea City face a difficult test away to Blackburn Rovers of the Championship.
The home side have ambitions of reaching the play-offs this season after narrowly missing out on the top six last time around, but they have been dogged by inconsistency and as a result they sit eight points off the pace in 10th.
But Rovers do have two of the best strikers in the division. Jordan Rhodes is a proven goalscorer at Football League level and will be deadly if chances come his way, while former Cardiff City man Rudy Gestede has attracted considerable interest after a fine season so far in front of goal.
Swansea are a good side when it comes to knocking out opponents from below the top-flight, as they proved in the last round by scoring six at Tranmere Rovers. Here, however, they will be looking for a response to their crushing defeat by Chelsea, their heaviest ever Premier League loss.
It was a performance ridden with errors, with their attacking threat nullified by the rampant Blues. It has been a testing week for young manager Garry Monk, but he has responded by adding to his squad with the arrival of Tottenham full-back Kyle Naughton, who could make his debut.
Blackburn could have Tommy Spurr available for the first time this season after injury. The visitors have Jonjo Shelvey back from suspension, but are without Wayne Routledge.
