The 23-year-old Croatian, pictured on the right, has been the subject of intense speculation for months with the likes of Tottenham, Inter Milan and Juventus all mooted as possible destinations.
He has been in impressive form this season for side HNK Rijeka scoring 28 goals in 31 games in all competitions, whilst bagging a total of 55 in 65 since joining Rijeka in 2013.
He also made his international debut last year and has scored two goals in four appearances for Croatia.
Chelsea are said to be closing in on a £6m deal to bring the striker to the club – before immediately loaning him out.
Vitesse Arnhem would be his most likely destination with the Blues having a history of loaning players to the Dutch side.
Just this season the Blues have sent Wallace, Bertrand Traore and Josh McEachran to the club.
It is expected that he will continue to develop until the start of next season, with Didier Drogba expected to hang up his boots and take on a coaching role at the club instead.
