Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho feels his side could have won Capital One Cup clash against Liverpool

Despite Chelsea being the inferior side in their 1-1 draw against Liverpool in the Capital One Cup semi-final, manager Jose Mourinho believes the Blues could have won if they were more ruthless in attack, reports BBC Sport.

Chelsea defended deep and looked to hit Liverpool on the counter attack. The Londoners came very close to shocking the hosts, but were lacking quality in the final third, with Diego Costa and Eden hazard unable to conjure up magic, and Mourinho was disappointed as a result.

“It’s a draw. I am not sad as a defeat, not as happy as a victory. My emotion is in the middle. We defended well and our goalkeeper was good, but it was a bit frustrating that we missed lots of passes in transitions that could have been dangerous. We recovered lots of balls, and caught them lots of times with just three defenders,” he said.
