Chelsea target Juan Cuadrado could be signed in time to face Manchester City this weekend

According to the Express, Chelsea’s pursuit of Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado could well be completed in time for the Colombian to face Manchester City in the Premier League on the weekend.

Chelsea’s bid to sign the 26-year-old is being stalled until Andre Schurrle is sold from the London club to Bundesliga side Wolfsburg. The Blues forward should make around £25M, which will be used to trigger Cuadrado’s release clause at Fiorentina.

If movement can be made with Schurrle’s deal to sign for the Wolves, Cuadrado could well be pushed through the door in time to make the match day squad for their Manchester City clash in just two days. Fiorentina won’t accept a penny less than his release clause, and Chelsea must stick to FFP regulations in their pursuit of Cuadrado.
