Crystal Palace preparing second offer for Swansea’s Taylor

Crystal Palace are to make a second offer for Swansea City Neil Taylor after having their first bid rebuffed, while the Swans will turn to Norwich City’s Martin Olsson should Taylor make the move to their Premier League rivals, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Palace’s first bid for Taylor of £3m was rejected by the Welsh club and the Eagles are expected to return with a £4.5m approach. Swansea have made a £4m offer for the Canaries’ Olsson with the Championship club mulling over the proposal.

Alan Pardew, the recently-appointed Palace manager, failed in an attempt to take Taylor to Newcastle during his days in charge of the Magpies, and has made the left-back one of his prime targets for the January transfer window.

Taylor has played more than 100 times for Swansea, having also represented North Wales outfit Wrexham, and is a regular for Wales manager Chris Coleman. Olsson, meanwhile, moved to Carrow Road from Blackburn Rovers in the summer of 2013 and was part of the Norwich side relegated to the second tier last season. He has played around 50 times for the club and is a Sweden international.
