Crystal Palace have released striker Andy Johnson, with the 33-year-old having failed to make a lasting impression since his summer arrival from Queens Park Rangers, reports Sky
Johnson enjoyed a successful first stint with the Eagles, but his return didn’t go as planned. The veteran forward has struggled with injuries for years, and could force his way into the starting lineup at Palace despite their striker woes. The former Everton man left a message to the club and fans following his departure.
“It was great to be back at Palace, if only for a short time, and I wish everyone at the club and those great supporters every success for the rest of the season,” said Johnson.
“We would like to thank Andrew for his efforts during his return to the club and wish him all the best for the future,” the club said.
