Everton are lining up an offer for out-of-favour Tottenham winger Aaron Lennon, as manager Roberto Martinez looks to refresh his squad, the Daily
Lennon has barely featured for Spurs this season, with manager Mauricio Pochettino preferring the likes of Erik Lamela, Christian Eriksen, Nacer Chadli and Andros Townsend to play in the wide positions. Most of his starts have come in the cup competitions, and Tottenham would be willing to allow him to leave in January.
With his side labouring in a disappointing 13th place and in a desperately poor run of form, Martinez has made signing a winger his biggest priority for the current transfer window. The Toffees may be forced to sell first in order to meet the £7m asking price, or may decide to strike an initial loan deal with the option of making the move permanent in the summer.
They will face competition in order to sign Lennon, who has attracted interest from Hull City, Stoke City, Sunderland and West Bromwich Albion, although the player would prefer a move to Goodison Park. The England international has made 364 appearances and scored 30 goals in nearly 10 years at Tottenham.
