After losing four games on the bounce, Everton manager Roberto Martinez admitted his side’s recent run is unacceptable, vowing to turn things around, reports BBC
“This is a challenging time but we need to look forward to the second half of the season. As a football club we can never accept the run of results that we’ve had. We need to work as hard as we can. We have the talent that we used so well last season. We know what we can achieve. There’s no panic but we’re not happy,” he said.
Everton are currently 13th in the Premier League after 20 games. The Toffees have lost five of their last six games in the division, winning only one of their previous eight. With Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea as three of their next five games, Martinez has a big task of getting a result.
