Everton manager Roberto Martinez has hinted that striker Samuel Eto’o is not yet on the way out of Goodison Park, reports BBC
Signed on a free transfer from Chelsea in the summer, Samuel Eto’o has only been with Everton for half a season, but has been linked with a move to Serie A high-flyers Sampdoria so he can be closer to his family in Milan. However, Martinez has hinted that his move to the Italian outfit is not quite imminent.
“The Samuel Eto’o situation is something that we’re going to make sure that the next two weeks is a period of reflection and see what’s the next move in that respect,” said the Toffees boss. There is still enough time in the January transfer window, and Sampdoria are staying confident they can sign the Cameroonian this month.
