Everton manager Roberto Martinez rules about signing a Samuel Eto’o replacement

According to the Express, Everton won’t sign any replacement for Samuel Eto’o, after the Cameroonian international was sold to Sampdoria, said manager Roberto Martinez.

Eto’o left to join the Italian Serie A side, which has somewhat left a striker void, with only Romelu Lukaku and Arouna Kone the only realistic options in attack. But manager Roberto Martinez has no intention of bringing in any new player, and has praised the crop of attacking talent he has.

“Because Arouna Kone is fit I do feel we don’t need anyone to replace Samuel in that position. We have Kone and Romelu Lukaku in attack. Will we sign anyone? It is hard to give a straight answer. We are not looking at this window to find solutions. The work we did in the summer was to build a squad capable of competing in all the competitions,” he said.
