Leicester City are close to completing a deal to sign Rijeka striker Andrej Kramaric, beating off competition from Premier League leaders Chelsea, according to the Independent.
Manager Nigel Pearson is determined to bring in a striker in January with Leicester currently sitting bottom of the Premier League with just 14 points from 20 outings. Leonardo Ulloa is their current top scorer with eight goals, but fellow forwards David Nugent, Jamie Vardy and Chris Wood have all struggled to find the net.
Kramaric has become one of the most highly-rated strikers in Europe in recent months thanks to a remarkable scoring record for Rijeka, netting 28 goals in 30 matches in all competitions this season. He also has four caps and two goals for Croatia. Meanwhile, Leicester have confirmed the signing of Chelsea goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer.
