Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson and Chelsea’s Diego Costa involved in tunnel fracas

According to ITV Football, Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson and Chelsea striker Diego Costa were involved in an altercation in the tunnel after the final whistle of their Capital One Cup clash this week.

Costa came to blows with Henderson after the England international clashed with Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas, and the argument was said to have continued down the tunnel after the game. Referee Martin Atkinson tried to address the issue during the match, but tempers reportedly flared in the aftermath of the result.

It will give the second leg clash at Stamford Bridge some real emotion prior to kick-off, with the two clubs having a more souring relationship every season. Henderson and Costa’s altercation was said to have been verbal not physical, while both respective clubs have played the incident down too.
