Liverpool’s out-of-favour striker Rickie Lambert attracting interest from Crystal Palace

Just six months after signing for Liverpool, striker Rickie Lambert could be on his way out of Anfield, with Crystal Palace keen on the England international, reports the Guardian.

New Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has made it clear about his desperation to sign a striker in January, and Lambert would be his first choice. Liverpool aren’t likely to cut their losses entirely and sell him, but would consider a loan move until the end of the campaign.

With manager Brendan Rodgers having devised a new tactic that has seen Raheem Sterling spearheading the attack, while the Reds are also weight up recalling Divock Origi from his loan spell at Lille, Lambert looks surplus to requirements.

Palace could make an official approach in the coming days about Lambert’s availability.
