Man City in talks to extend Lampard stay further

Manchester City are in shock talks to attempt to now extend Frank Lampard’s Manchester City stay until the end of next season, according to the Daily Star.

City have only just completed talks to keep Lampard at the Etihad Stadium until the end of this season and manager Manuel Pellegrini now wants to keep him until the summer of 2016.

Lampard left Chelsea at the end of last season before signing with Manchester City’s new MLS franchise New York City – before City swooped to bring him in on loan.

It is said the ex-England international has settled into life at the club and is enjoying playing without the pressure brought on by being such a big figure at Chelsea.

This news is set to infuriate already riled up fans and officials of the MLS franchise after Lampard’s already extended loan spell at City was greeted with much anger and opposition.

Many new fans have started to follow the brand new team on the basis of seeing such a huge football star like Lampard play in America – something that now has the possibility of never happening.

Pellegrini is said to be delighted with the opportunity to continue tapping his vast experience.

Lamaprd would have to take a cut on his £190,000 a week wages but this is thought to not be a stumbling block for the 36-year-old.
