Sergio Aguero could make his return from injury on Saturday for Manchester City well ahead of schedule since injuring medial collateral ligaments just five weeks ago, according to the Manchester
In an ironic turn of events should Aguero make his come back from injury at the weekend, it would be against the team he lasted just two minutes against back in early December.
After leaving the Etihad pitch in tears the worst was feared for the Argentine hit man who had been in such wonderful form prior to his latest absence.
However instead of a lay off predicted to be up to two months Aguero has returned to outdoor training this week after just five weeks on the treatment table and looks to be in contention for important games against Arsenal and Chelsea this month – that he was previously predicted to miss.
The player himself urged caution ahead of the growing excitement from fans that his anticipated return has brought and took to Twitter to manage expectations.
He wrote: “I wanted you to know I’ve already started field work. Slowly but surely I’ll be back at the right moment. Thanks for the wishes!”
Such was the form of the striker before his injury that he is still at the top of the Premier League scoring charts and will no doubt be a huge boost to City as they look to defend their crown.
