Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini hopes the club can keep James Milner

After James Milner scored two goals to send Manchester City through to the fourth round of the FA Cup, manager Manuel Pellegrini is hoping the club can keep him this summer, reports Sky Sports.

Milner has been somewhat of a regular in the Manchester City side this season, and has recently been very useful as a makeshift attacker while the Sky Blues suffered an injury crisis with the likes of Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko and Steven Jovetic.

But his future has been in doubt, with the England international previously admitting he wanted more game. Now he’s been afforded such, Pellegrini hopes he’s done enough to keep him.

“(There is) no news. I hope we will find an arrangement. But I think that I have said already what I think about James Milner. He is very useful. He always plays with 100 per cent commitment and intensity. I am very happy for him and also as it his birthday,” said Pellegrini.
