Southampton winger Dusan Tadic scored a second-half winning goal to earn the top-four chasing side their first ever Premier League win at Old Trafford, reports BBC
Manchester United failed to have a shot on target in the entire 90 minutes, and found themselves frustrated by Southampton’s organised backline. The hosts had few chances of real quality to threaten taking the lead, and were instead reduced to a direct style of play to bypass the Saints’ superior midfield.
Southampton weren’t at all phased by their opponents or venue, and grew more and more into the game. There were no real chances of note by either side, until the important match-winner, with Dusan Tadic finishing from close range following a rebounded effort off the post.
Ronald Koeman’s side held on for the win, and went about Manchester United in the table as a result.
