Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal admits Darren Fletcher could leave

Manchester United manager was coy when asked about the future of midfielder Darren Fletcher, amid rumours that West Brom are looking to sign him, reports Sky Sports.

Van Gaal responded: “He is a Manchester United player and that’s the update I can give,” when asked about the future of the Scotland international. The 30-year-old has only made five starts in all competitions, and has only started once in the league back in August.

The long-serving combative midfielder has struggled to force his way into the starting eleven this season, due to the stiff competition for places, and a number of clubs have enquired about his services as a result. West Brom manager Tony Pulis admitted Fletcher was a player on their shortlist, and is keen to make a deal work this month for him.
