After losing 1-0 at home to Southampton, Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal says the Saints were lucky to have got three points, reports BBC
Manchester United were far from their best against their South Coast opponents, and the result has seen match their points tally at this point last season under predecessor David Moyes. They are still on course for a top-four finish, but have been displaced by the Saints.
“We played a much better game than Southampton. They were lucky to score out of nothing. They came for a draw, I believe, and they go away with a victory. That is disappointing. It is a bad result. We have to be better. We were the dominating team but you have to create more chances when you are the dominating team. We didn’t choose the right solutions in the third and fourth phase,” said Van Gaal.
