Manchester United playmaker Juan Mata has said the side are ready to fight to ensure they finish the campaign in the top-four of the Premier League, which would seal their Champions League aspirations, reports Sky
Louis Van Gaal’s side are currently fourth in the league, but will likely be competing with Arsenal, Tottenham, Southampton and Liverpool for either the 3rd or 4th place spot, with Chelsea and Manchester City comfortably in the top-two respectively.
They missed out entirely in the previous campaign, and as a result, Mata feels United need to fight for their right to play in the Champions League next season.
“It’s difficult to watch the games on TV. We need to be back in the Champions League. It’s the most attractive competition in the world. This is our main objective for the season. It’s going to be a fight until the end, it could be up to five teams, who are now within a few points of each other,” he said.
