Manchester United’s Luke Shaw could be fit to face Southampton on the weekend

According to the Telegraph, Manchester United defender Luke Shaw could be in line to start against Southampton this weekend.

The England international, 19, joined the club from the Saints in the summer and has struggled with an ankle injury all through the campaign. Shaw came off in United’s most recent win against Yeovil Town, but is was said to have been a precaution. Tests showed there was no ligament damage as many first feared.

Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal will give a late test to the England left-back to confirm his fitness ahead of an important clash, but it will be a big boost for the top-four chasers to get Shaw back in the starting lineup. He still has five days to get back to full fitness.
