Manchester United striker Robin Van Persie is to have a scan on an ankle injury suffered in the recent 1-0 home defeat to Southampton, reports BBC
He came off after the hour mark with the injury, and could miss United’s next league game. And as a result, the 31-year-old will miss the Ballon d’Or ceremony, where his World Cup goal scored against Spain in the summer is up for the Puskas Award.
But now Van Persie will be out of action for potentially a couple of weeks, and his absence could see Radamel Falcao back into the starting lineup, with the Colombian having been left out of the side against Southampton.
Manager Louis Van Gaal will be forced into a selection headache, with a choice to make about his forward players.
