Mauricio Pochettino is growing increasingly confident he has a real chance of guiding his Spurs side to third place this season, according to the Daily
Tottenham sit only three points shy of third placed Manchester United having lost just one game in their last nine – taking them above rivals Arsenal in the table.
Chelsea and Manchester City are nine points clear of third place and expected to go on to challenge the title themselves, but as many as seven teams are battling over the remaining two Champions League places.
And Pochettino firmly believes he can guide his side to a club high third place in his debut season if they continue to impress.
He said: “It’s clear that Chelsea and Manchester City will be first and second.
“But after that, nothing is clear. I think we have to ask who is going to be third as well.
“I think it is possible. Everything is possible in football if you believe. Why not? There is Manchester United and Southampton.
“Southampton is a strong team, West Ham and us, we need to try. It is only in our mind and we need to believe. When you believe all is possible.”
Tottenham beat Chelsea 5-3 in a thrilling encounter last time out and face a difficult test at Crystal Palace this weekend as they bid to continue the high of their derby result.
Pochettino’s side are still in all four of their available competitions this term and this could be the real challenge for the Argentinian boss to manage.
