Queens Park Rangers 1-1 Swansea City: Bony strikes late to rescue a point for the visitors

Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony capped a brilliant 2014 by netting on New Year’s Day against Queens Park Rangers to ensure the visitors came away from Loftus Road with a point, reports BBC Sport.

Queens Park Rangers took the lead in the 20th minute through midfielder Leroy Fer. The former Norwich man scored from distance to put the hosts ahead. Before the goal, shot-stopper Rob Green was fortunate to have not been sent off for handling the ball outside his area.

Fortune seemed to favour that of the Londoners, with Swansea winger Wayne Routledge sent off for reacting to a robust tackle from Rangers’ midfielder Karl Henry. But Swansea did have the last laugh in the end, with striker Wilfried Bony levelling the game in the dying minutes.
