Mainz striker Shinji Okazaki has delayed talks with Leicester City, due to his participation in the Asian Cup with Japan, reports BBC
Leicester City have been desperate to sign some fire power, with prolific goalscorer Andrej Kramaric being their top transfer target this month. The Foxes have already had an £8M bid rejected for Okazaki, who has said that he isn’t thinking about his future until he returns from the cup competition.
“For the time being that’s finished for me. I will stop thinking about it. I’m a Mainz player and for now I want to focus on the Asian Cup,” he said.
Mainz appear adamant on keeping him at the club too, and certainly won’t be drawn into accepting a below valuation offer for the talented forward either.
