Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko has indicated that is looking to remain at the club amid considerable speculation regarding his future, Sky
Since manager Alan Pardew left at the end of December to take up the vacant position at Crystal Palace, Sissoko’s long-term future on Tyneside has come under sever question, with French champions Paris St. Germain in particular having been linked with a January bid. Arsenal are also said to hold an interest.
But the player moved to quieten those rumours on Friday, posting a message on Twitter which read: “I’m a professional player and I stay focused on my team NUFC #DontListenToRumours”
The 25-year-old joined the club in January 2013 and made an immediate impact by scoring twice on his debut to help Newcastle to a win over Chelsea. Since then, he has grown to become one of the Magpies’ most influential players, and he is often looked upon to provide attacking impetus.
This season, he has managed four goals in 28 appearances in all competitions, while he is a regular for the French national team, earning 23 caps to date and helping them to the quarter-finals of last year’s World Cup.
