Southampton midfielder Victor Wanyama could well be out of action for over a month after picking up a hamstring injury, reports BBC
The Kenyan international, 23, picked up the injury in Southampton 1-0 win against Ipswich Town, and had to be replaced before half-time as a result. He could now be out of action for a lot of February, let alone the rest of January. Wanyama’s absence comes at a bad time, as the Saints will also be without key players Toby Alderweireld and Morgan Schneiderlin.
“It is a real negative. We already have some other injuries. If it is a hamstring injury then he will be out for four to five weeks. I won’t necessarily go into the transfer market, I have young lads who we can use,” said Southampton manager Ronald Koeman.
