Spurs striking duo targeted by Roma

Having lost striker Mattia Destro to AC Milan Italian side Roma are said to be targeting two of Tottenham Hotspur’s three strikers in Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado, the London Evening Standard is reporting.

Roma’s primary target, Shakhtar Donetsk’s Luiz Adriano, is said to be demanding a salary of £5m a year and has forced them to seek other targets.

That means both Adebayor and Soldado are on their radar – and it is thought they do not have a preference as to who they sign.

Any move would be a temporary switch to the Italian capital and if Roma were to go for Adebayor, would face competition from the likes of Queens Park Rangers and Paris Saint Germain.

The striking pair have fallen below Harry Kane in the pecking order after the Englishman rose to prominence and has bagged 18 goals in 26 games.

In comparison, both Adebayor and Soldado have scored just six goals between them this season, with the former being the subject of boos from the home crowd in recent games.
