Sunderland & England striker Jermain Defoe has revealed he is happy to be judged on goals following his arrival to the Stadium of Light, reports BBC
Signed from Toronto this month, the former West Ham, Portsmouth and Tottenham man returns to the Premier League looking to prove his worth in a side in desperate need of goals. The North-East club are currently struggling in front of goal, and Defoe is happy to have the burden on his shoulders.
“It’s a good pressure. It’s another challenge and I am really looking forward to it. As a forward, you are judged on scoring goals and you want to come and make a difference and score goals to help the team move up in the table,” he said.
