Swansea City manager Garry Monk recently revealed he spoke with striker Bafetimbi Gomis on his future with the club, and is backing him to shine in Bony’s absence, reports BBC
Gomis, 29, recently admitted he was considering his future with Swansea despite now becoming their first-choice striker, as the Frenchman felt he was given false promises about playing time. Linked with Crystal Palace, and previously Newcastle before having joined City, Gomis has spoken with manager Garry Monk in attempt to thrash out his future.
“I think this is an important period for us as a club, it’s an important period for him as a player. We’re trying to progress and this is a period now where he has the shirt. He’s in a perfect position to go on and make a name for himself at the club,” he said.
