Toronto striker Jermain Defoe is training with former side Tottenham, with the MLS season having finished. The England international is said to be looking for a short-term loan move too, reports BBC
The 32-year-old striker signed for the MLS outfit nearly a year ago, and scored 11 goals in 16 league games since the move. He’s only set to train with Tottenham’s development squad for a week, but is looking for a temporary move to a Premier League side to keep up his match fitness.
Defoe has been linked with the likes of Queens Park Rangers and Leicester City since the January transfer window opened, with a loan move in the offing. But there has been no official approach as of yet, and his large wages could well prove to be a stumbling block.
