Tottenham striker Harry Kane scored twice, and put in a great performance against Premier League leaders Chelsea as Spurs hit the Blues for five at White Hart Lane, reports BBC
Somewhat against the run of play, Chelsea took the lead, with Diego Costa scoring a close range effort in the 18th minute.
But Spurs found their way back into the game with a brilliant individual effort from Kane. The England youngster cut inside from the left, and his a fierce low drive that gave Chelsea ‘keeper Thibaut Courtois no chance.
The hosts then took the lead minutes before half-time through Danny Rose, who followed up Nacer Chadli’s effort which hit the post. Matters were made worse for Chelsea, after Spurs were awarded a penalty for a foul on Kane by Gary Cahill.
Kane then bagged his second of the evening, brilliant spinning with his first touch to coolly slot home past Courtois in the 52nd minute. But such was the openness of the game, Chelsea threatened a comeback through Eden Hazard, who scored just after the hour mark to make it 4-2.
The impressive Nacer Chadli finally got the goal he deserved to put Tottenham 5-2 up with just over 10 minutes of normal time remaining, but Chelsea defender John Terry made it a bit more nervy with a late goal in the dying minutes.
