After reaching their first cup final in eight years, Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino believes his side were fully deserving of their clash against Chelsea at Wembley, reports Sky
Tottenham progressed from the two-legged semi-final by beating Sheffield United 3-2 on aggregate. Their second leg clash nearly went to extra time after the Blades mounted an incredible comeback, but a late goal from the Londoners broke United hearts in the final few minutes of the game. Pochettino was delighted that his men finally got over the line.
“I am very happy for the players, because they deserve to go to the final. In football, you need to kill and score when you have the possibility and if you don’t, it’s a difficult game. The most important thing is that the game is done and we’re going to Wembley,” he said.
