Louis van Gaal has revealed his incredibly ambitions plans to rule the footballing world with Manchester United – as the club look to bounce back from a poor year in their history, Sky
United are preparing to face Southampton this weekend to extend their increasingly impressive unbeaten run to 10 games as they look to consolidate third place and kick on in their attempts to close the nine point gap on leaders Manchester City and Chelsea.
However their performances have still been inconsistent during their improved form – perhaps down to their luck with injuries so far this campaign.
Their squad is slowly returning to full health and Dutchman Van Gaal truly believes his side can go on to become one of the world’s forces once again.
He said: “My ambition is that I have the best players who can collaborate with each other to form the best team in the world.
“We only have one player injured. That’s the first time that has happened in my career at Manchester United.
“I have to select the best team and watch the qualities of Southampton and hope I can reduce that quality by our line-up and our game plan.”
United missed out on Champions League football last season with this the minimum aim for the new manager to achieve.
The Red Devils granted the 63-year-old over £155m to improve his playing squad and despite still seeking improvements to the playing staff at Old Trafford, there are signs it is slowly starting to click for United.
